Leave to Remain

After months of long wait...the time has come! I've got a work permit and now, my Leave to Remain so that means i can stay in this country for the next 2 yrs to work. I have no idea when I can start work..hopefully soon as i'm running out of money. I really don't understand why a work permit is different from leave to remain and I have to pay £500 to stay in this country??

Anyway..how this work permit and leave to remain work...first the company applies a permit for u, then u apply for this leave thingy so that u can stay in the country...but doesnt a permit allow you to stay in the country anyway??? I think it's just a strategy for them to make money don't u think?

The thought of having to start work soon is indescribable...i'm quite nervous and worried actually but at the same time i'm anticipating the new life that awaits me..hope everything turns out well and i won't do anything stupid at work ( i always have this feeling that i'll screw up at work and i'm not as good as they think i was when i had the interview)
